Hey everyone, A few people wanted some info on the motorsport scene here in Aus. Drifting is my main interest so here goes: The national competition is known as 'Drift Australia', which runs 5 events over 5 months around the country per year. Points are earned according to the position finished at each round, with the highest point scorer across the 5 rounds winning the national title. there are numerous state competitions, as well as some local competitions. There is no great money in the sport at the moment, prize wise, but it is the most rapidly growing motorsport in the country at the moment, so 2007 should be a huge year. Cars used are generally all japs - 180sx/s13, s14, r32, r33, ae86, few cefiros, laurels, soarers some pics: One of the older, perhaps lower budget cars (Aussie R31) - still goes very hard One of the better prepared cars (Nissan S15) A battle - my car - undrifted so far i have many pics if you want more, or let me know if you want to know anything about any other sports. hey, my R31 is in pretty good condition, im actualy trying to sell it this weekend, but if it dosnt sell, ill give up and its going to be drifted hard!!!
As for engine transplants, rb20 and rb25 are the usual options. Some people turbo the rb30, which can be relatiely cheap, and a couple of people have put an rb25 head onto the r30 block, which apparently is a fairly close fit. To do a transplant legally is pretty expensive though, because you need to get engineers reports, upgrade the brakes, suspension and so on, so most people do the transplant and drive it around until they get caught

That s15 is actually for sale at the moment here....about $AU35 000 - around 110 000 rm? Yes, my mistake, it is a ke70 - im not too interested in corollas myself I think its cefiro for me, although i have noticed that 4 door r33's seem to be getting fairly cheap these days, newer and have rb25. The problem is that to import a cefiro, it can only be a 1988 model, which is getting pretty old, especially when 1996 r33's are coming up for not much more in price BB

s15 for around rm110 000, is it new ?..you can get it for yaer 2000 s15 model for that price
the only rear wheel drive cefiro model is a31 ..1990's model after that cefiro using front wheel for the after 1990's model...
cefiro good for drifting as lower center of gravity, powerful motor and good handling...spare part also easy to find.
r33 also good drift car but may be need to careful to play with it, once it smashed ..spare part might hard to find ...best for pro drifter...they can handle with confident...
