It was Sunday, people in the metro city of Kuala lumpur was all still sleeping due to off working. The only crowd usually around was some jogger or walker want to have a peace of quite of the hectic city. But not today, the morning waked by the roaring of the v8 engine, 6 inline and some rotary engines. It was smoke everywhere due to burning rubber, the smell of the fresh air turning to smell of burning rubber. That is drift is all about, burn not some but a lot of rubber and scratching tires. It held here in the middle of the city, the old historical Dataran Merdeka, the Formula Drift Malaysia 2010 event stormed Malaysia. it was consider a semi international event which The participants was came from all over Asian countries, such as Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and from Malaysia itself. The machine was well built for this competition and these guys spent their fortune to keep the machine running. What interest me was, some of the team used the rx7 fd3s for this competition. That’s keep me pumping up not to miss this. It was a truly "win or die spirit" where these guys, the drivers and the spectators revolved in this spirit. These high speed chase and drift happened was only 10 meter to the spectators. Let's hope there is no die situation here.
I got the main grandstand ticket from my old friend, Ayin. This spot was the ultimate spot where both of the drift cars made 180 degrees drift back to the starting line. It is really near to the action where we can actually smell the smoking rubber when even the machine attacked the corner. Just about the best 16 round to began, a quick parade of the best 16 cars and drivers made. Here the drivers were introduced and announced. Great view when the machines line up whiles the crowd cheering. The competition then continued with no mercy. They really went to the limit and trashed the car. At the end in the final round, Daigo Saito from Japan driving Toyota Altezza 2000 and D Kohkae from Thailand driving Nissan Cefiro A31kicked the heart. The champion for this round goes to Daigo Saito. Congratulation.
