soo...many of us have this vacuum meter...but we didnt know how to read it...or waht to read...
soo guys...this is what i found on the internet.....enjoys ;D ;D
Normal Stock Engine
==============
Normal reading (usually 17-22" Hg. in stock engines) Race engines vary "a lot" and in most cases will be considerably less.
what you see is just Steady Needle!!!!
Sticking Valve
==========
Ignition miss, sticking valves, lifter bleeding off (hydraulic), or just a BIG camshaft
what you see ? " Intermittent Fluctuation at Idle" !!
Incorrect Valve Timing:
================
Late timing, low compression, sticking throttle valve, carb or manifold vacuum leak (remember most race engines with a big cam and a tight centerline and high overlap will be naturally low ... you must decide your baseline vacuum reading)
what you see ? Low, though Steady Reading!!!
Carb Adjustment Needed:
==================
Improper carb setting or minor vacuum leak
what you see? driffing NIDDLE!
Blown Head Gasket:
=============
Ignition miss, blown head gasket, leaking valve or weak or broken valve spring
what you will see? Fluctuating Needle as RPM Increases
Burnt or Leaking Valves:
================
Burnt valve or incorrect valve setting (too tight), "needle will fall when bad valve operates"
what you will see? "Steady, but Needle Drops Regularly"
Clogged Exhaust:
===========
Clogged exhaust, excessive backpressure (extreme cases engine will die at idle)
what you will encounter ? Reading Gradual Drop at Idle
Worn Valve Guides:
=============
what you will see ? "Excessive Vibration that Steadies as RPM Increases"
soo.....whats ur vacuums meter teels U??hehe ;D ;D
