Found out from the RPW website. All the performance item mainly made by RPW Australia.
Mitsubishi 4G93 DOHC 16v Engine Modifications.
(A) Standard Remanufactured units
1. The motor is bored and honed using original Mitsubishi cast pistons and USA Hastings chrome ring sets.
2. The cylinder head is serviced to standard specifications with new valves if necessary.
3. Engine block acid cleaned, surface ground on block face, Cyl head bolt threads tapped and chamfered.
4. Engine block is painted and refitted with new brass core plugs.
5. Crankshaft ground, fitted with ACL bearings, all clearances checked on each journal.
6. The compression heights are kept to standard.
7. Mitsubishi Genuine seals used only with quality aftermarket gasket set.
8. New head stud bolts fitted (Genuine Mitsubishi)
This engine is suitable for any normal everyday runner.
(B) Stage 1 Engine Upgrade
1. The motor is built as per the above remanufactured standard engine but upgraded with
2. The motor uses again Mitsubishi pistons and USA Hastings chrome ring sets for increased strength. Engine is bored out larger to increase cubic capacity to approx 1850cc to increase torque and horsepower off boost.
3. Compression ratio's remain standard at 10.5 : 1. Compression dropped to 9.0 : 1 for turbo use.
4. The cylinder head is serviced to standard specifications with new valves if necessary, ports mildly ported to remove major casting marks.
5. Conrods & pistons are checked for balance and neutral balanced if necessary.
This engine is suitable for medium levels of performance turbo charging and will require some fuel mods.
(C) Stage 2 Engine Upgrade
1. The motor is built as per the above stage 1 engine but upgraded with
2. The engine is big bored and stroked out to approx 1930cc cubic capacity to enhance torque and horsepower.
3. Crankshaft is neutral balanced.
4. Compression ratio is raised to 11.0 : 1 or 12.0 : 1 Depending upon choice of use. For turbo engines compression dropped to 9.0 : 1.
5. Conrods are resized and fitted with ARP Conrod bolts, shot peened and neutral balanced.
6. Cylinder head is ported and polished to stage 1 specifications and upgrade with new valve springs.
7. Camshaft is upgraded to either stage 1 or stage 2 camshaft.
8. Vernier camshaft sprocket fitted when stage 2 camshaft supplied.
9. Upgrade of cylinder head gasket to RPW performance unit.
This engine is suitable for all levels of performance or medium boost on turbo kits up to 13 psi max (Stock Conrod limit). Will require ECU modifications, breathing on the intake and exhaust.
(D) Stage 3 Engine Upgrade
1. The motor is built as per the above stage 2 engine but upgraded with
2. After market forged pistons are supplied, brand and choice dependant upon application
3. After market conrods are supplied, brand and choice dependant upon application
4. Cylinder head is ported and polished to stage 2 specifications and upgrade with new valve springs.
5. Camshaft is upgraded to either stage 2 or higher, valve reliefs modified in pistons to compensate.
6. Vernier camshaft sprocket fitted.
7. Engine block is strengthened and fitted with ARP main stud kits
8. Cylinder head bolts replaced with ARP head stud kits (This is a new product still in possible production)
9. Crankshaft is knife edged before balancing.
10. Further options including ceramic coating of pistons, higher levels of work on Cyl heads etc is available depending upon budget.
This engine is suitable for all levels of performance or boost on turbo kits up to 20 psi max. Will require ECU modifications, breathing on the intake and exhaust etc. For the hard core racer. Stage 3 engines are built to order only and are custom designed with the customers budget.
(E) Stage 4 Engine Upgrade - 4G93 hybrid
1. The motor is built as per the above stage 2 engine but upgraded with the use of a cylinder head from a 4G92 DOHC Mivec engine.
2. The engine is bored and stroked out to 1.95 litres.
3. Compression is raised to whopping 12.0 : 1
4. Cylinder head is ported and polished to stage 2 specifications and upgrade with new valve springs.
5. Camshafts are custom N/A or off boost N/A design on Mivec first lobe, high boost turbo grind when the Mivec and boost is on.
6. Vernier camshaft sprocket fitted.
7. Swivel based adjuster screws to replace standard adjuster screws.
8. Engine block is strengthened and fitted with ARP main stud kits
9. Cylinder head bolts replaced with ARP head stud kits (This is a new product still in possible production)
10. Crankshaft is knife edged before balancing.
11. Further options including ceramic coating of pistons, higher levels of work on Cyl heads etc is available depending upon budget.
