Last Sunday, We were invited by the AFOS organizer to participate in Inter-Car-Club car display. From as early as 8.00 the members, gathered at Projet MMR2 prior to the show. Although it was pouring rain, we manage to make a small car convoy to Sepang Circuit.
Just in time, we arrived and the cars started to que up to display and show their mad machines. There’s cool rides, mad rides, VIP rides and a lot more staggered down along the grandstand area. At the track, the sound of the roaring beast also heard and silenced the spectators. From the F1 base cars of Formula V6, high tuned Porsche, and European/Japanese Touring cars, pumpin’ gas to fill in podium step. This international event may not as hot as F1, but certainly attracted its own type of crowds.

The inclusion of the drifting demonstration in the already thrilling AFOS schedule from May 5-6 will further raise the level of excitement for racing fans. The AFOS Event offers fans four major championship’s - the Formula V6 Asia, Formula BMW Asia, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and the ever exciting Asian Touring Car Series.
In addition to this, the Asian Festival Of Speed weekend will offer a fantastic opportunity to fans of motor racing when, for the first time, the action of rally is brought to the circuit.
Members of the public are given a chance to witness the outstanding abilities of the Malaysian Rally drivers during a skilled demonstration held at the parking area of the paddock. A team of six professional rally drivers (from the Malaysian Rally Championship), will be on hand to show off and even give out ‘ride-alongs’ to a few lucky spectators.
Also, to further liven up the atmosphere at the Mall Area, there will be a fantastic collaboration between the various Malaysian car clubs. These club members will begin their journey to Sepang International Circuit in a convoy, to create excitement among the members and to arrive at the circuit with a loud roar of engines.
This Inter-Car-Club will unite hundreds of members from around Malaysia to support the Asian Festival Of Speed. The Inter-Car-Club parade will form a display at the Grand Stand area, giving visitors a chance to get up close and personal to these sleek machines.
In addition to that, spectators will get a chance to get some great goodies from the 98.8 Happy Cruisers and meet up with a few of the DJ’s from 98.8fm radio station. To further entertain the crowd in between the races, there will be dance performances staged at the Mall Area.
